Over the past 19 summers the Arizona swim camp has successfully helped over 1,700 competitive swimmers improve their stroke technique.
The Arizona Nike Swim Camp is back at the University of Northern Arizona in Flagstaff! Instead of training in the desert heat this summer, join us in the mountains for cooler temperatures, awesome facilities and a taste of training at altitude (6,900 feet)! It is commonly known that training at altitude – where the oxygen level is considerably lower – allows athletes to increase their red blood cell count. This enables swimmers to compete more effectively at sea level because more oxygen is delivered to the muscles. Adaptation and results will vary.
Campers will train each day in the Wall Aquatic Center, located in the Aquatic and Tennis Complex. The center offers Northern Arizona University and the Flagstaff community one of the finest high-altitude swimming facilities in the world.
Extra Starts & Turns Clinic:
You also have the option to add the Extra Starts & Turns Clinic to make your camp experience a 6 day camp! *Please note that the Extra Starts & Turns Clinic will not be offered for Session I or Session IV of camp.
The Nike Swim Camp at Northern Arizona University is open to any and all entrants. For your safety and benefit, we recommend you have competitive swimming experience (e.g. U.S.S. age group, national qualifiers, high school swimmers, or summer league swimmers) and can swim at least 50 meters in all four competitive strokes: fly, back, breast and freestyle.
Brandy Maben, Captain of Arizona’s 2008 National Championship team and former University of Arizona Coach and Recruiting Coordinator will be directing camp this summer. Brandy has served as the Arizona Nike Swim Camp Director and Lead Instructor for over 5 Years.
Please note: Camp sessions SOLD OUT in 2023. You can expect a high demand on these first-come-first-serve camper spots, so please be sure to register early. This year, the Arizona Nike Swim Camp at Northern Arizona University is offering four sessions of overnight and day camp (9:00am-4:30pm) for ages 8-17. Our goal is to maximize swimming potential by helping swimmers to create a winning mindset and provide ongoing and constructive feedback in the pool to improve stroke technique.
